Too Late to Say Goodbye Starring Rob LoweAnn Rule’s Book Comes to Lifetime Movie Network
Based on a true story, Rob Lowe stars in Too Late to Say Goodbye about a couple whose outwardly idyllic life crumbles into tragedy.
Bart Corbin (Lowe) is a dentist with a promising career. He has his sights set on having it all. With his beautiful wife Jenn (Stephanie von Pfetten) and their two sons, Jenn’s parents and sister Heather (Lauren Holly) and her family, Bart’s life looks like something out of a fairy tale. But the long hours he spends at the office is weighing on Jenn’s mind. An Internet AffairShe begins to think that Bart is having an affair with the woman who runs his office. She turns to the Internet and finds who she thinks is a man who understands her. Jenn is obsessed with her computer and this man Chris. She later discovers Chris is not who she thinks he is. The Internet is the perfect place to be someone else, and that is what Chris is doing. When Jenn is found dead of a gunshot to the head, it is determined that she committed suicide. All the pieces fit together. She was unhappy with her marriage and had a big disappointment with her Internet affair. Was it Suicide or Murder? While the investigation seems to be leading to the final conclusion that her death was a suicide, bits and pieces of the couple’s lives come to the surface. It is Heather who comes to the conclusion that Bart murdered her sister, but the authorities do not have any proof. Everything leads them to conclude that the bullet was self inflicted. Little by little the true story of Jenn and Bart reveal that what the public saw was not the people they really were. While the detectives investigate his past, Bart’s college life sheds doubt on his whole existence leading the detectives to dig a little further. Heather insists that Bart killed her sister, however the police cannot get any evidence to arrest him. And, some of the evidence still points to suicide as the cause of death. While Bart is under suspicion so is Jenn’s Internet lover. This entire part of her life comes as a complete surprise to her family. The story is shown partly in flashbacks as the family and the detectives examine the lives of Jenn and Bart. During each interview with Bart, Heather, and the rest of the family more information about their lives is revealed until finally there is a confession, which completely astonishes Jenn’s family. Looks can be deceiving. People are not necessarily what they appear to be. Ann Rule’s Too Late to Say Goodbye premiers Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 8 PM ET/ 9 PM PT on Lifetime Movie Network.
